About Jessica

Jessica has been passionate about helping people from an early age. She grew up being "that friend" who everyone shared their problems with. She is a child of the 80's and 90's and grew up on Care Bears and Alternative rock! She got her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Georgia Tech and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. She lives in Acworth, GA with her husband and 2 sons. She's been actively working in the social service/mental health field since 2000 and started The Northrop Connection in Dallas, GA in 2018 with the practice values of compassion and competence.

Upon starting her own private practice, her schedule filled quickly, and she realized just how much need there is for quality mental health care in Paulding County, so she began to grow into a group practice to best serve the community. As the Practice Owner, she takes responsibility for the quality of care provided throughout the entirety of the practice.

She focuses her clinical work exclusively on group therapy using the modalities of DBT, the Daring Way, somatic processing, and client centered practice.

In 2021, she started a consulting business in which she helps other Solo Private Practitioners launch their Group Practices. She offers a robust program to help them reach their goals. She also offers CEU opportunities in the areas of Shame Resilience, DBT, and Prolonged Exposure. She believes in the power of helping clinicians to feel confident in their skills so they can best help their clients.

Jessica believes in helping clients and clinicians alike settle in to the person they are meant to be. She believes in focusing on and developing existing strengths and seeking to understand rather than to change or "fix".

You are not broken or a problem to solve.

I seek to create the connection you need to grow into yourself and to build the life you desire.
